HSE Analyst - HSE Reporting & Analysis

we are looking for a HSE Analyst with strong analytical capabilities & experienced in global organisation HSE Analyst Manufacturing and Global Sourcing/ Global QSE/ Global Management Systems & Projects/ QSE Performance Management/ HSE Analysis Global QSE leads the global approach to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment in Vistas throughout the value chain.

The function supports both strategic & operational QSE tasks, leads towards achieving the QSE objectives and targets, as well as leads the Global Management System and its certification against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Global Management Systems & Projects is a global function under Global QSE with focus on leading group wide Management systems, HSE Analysis, QSE Performance Management, QSE Methods, Tools & Awareness, QSE Service Centre, Six sigma & Continuous Improvement and QSE Projects and assessment.

People are located in India & drive global activities collaborating with the regional QSE resources and all other functions across globe. This position is for HSE analyst @ Chennai office

Responsibilities:

Guide and support Sustainability reporting setup that runs effectively and efficiently throughout Vistas.

Deliver key reporting on Health, Safety and Environmental perspective & Performance analysis Analyze statistics of HSE indicators and prepare weekly reports.

Address enquiries from external and internal stakeholders on HSE Identify risks, assess hazards, implements process to eliminate injuries and controls environmental aspects for construction and operations.

Work with operations to facilitate implementation of HSE management system requirements.
Assist in development, implementation, and management of HSE programs.
Manage internal HSE audit program and inspections.
Oversight of accidents and incidents investigations to identify root cause, contributing factors and corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct HSE related training and safety meetings.
Administers the Incident management system tool.
Collects and analyses data related to hazard assessments, ongoing hazard identifications, and incident investigations.

Identify hazard controls in place related to high consequence risks.
Interacts with business partners & Regional heads to ensure incident/hazard reports are completed with the appropriate information, including recommendations and corrective actions.

Assist in the implementation of the annual
HSE Strategic Plan & target setting

Qualifications: A degree within HSE or Sustainability area 8-10 years of HSE experience in an industrial environment, preferably in heavy manufacturing & construction

Knowledge on European safety regulations and MNC experience in the field of reporting Strong knowledge of OSHA 29CFR
1910 and 1926 Experience with ISO14001 Strong analytical capability & data inquisitive must be able to work within culturally diverse environment Proficient in
Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PPT etc.

Competencies: Highly analytical person, who can analyse large amounts of data and qualitative information and transform this into precise consistent information Capability to comprehend complex solutions, structured and analytical, transparent and pragmatic Knowledge of how to measure the status of H&S Communication skills to convey the HSE content to non-experts as well as participate in discussion on priorities Extrovert and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

EHS Policies

PC1. Formulate general EHS policies, procedures, and programs to be followed by company in compliance with local/state/national environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations and statutory requirements
PC2. Proactively conceptualize, establish, and lead the EHS strategies for the organization and build/guide Safety committee for supporting EHS initiatives
PC3. Create strategies to enhance, optimize and improve current EHS programs consistent with the operational and compliance needs.
PC4. Ensure timely review and approval of EHS protocols/reports, master plans and SOPs
PC5. Develop pollution control, pollution prevention and recycling programs and supervise Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations
PC6. Co-ordinate all aspects of resource use, pollution reduction, waste management, environmental health, risk assessment and employee involvement
PC7. Promote prevention, compliance control program, reduce and monitor working conditions
PC8. Review and update the emergency plan and its policy framework, ensuring compliance.
PC9. Coordinate with external agencies like MIDC, GIDC, Factory Inspectorate, MoEF etc.

Safety Checks

PC10. Inspect areas of the facility, machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulations and statutory requirements
PC11. Conduct studies and analyses of industrial incidents, and occupational accidents
PC12. Take corrective action in response to typical faults and inconsistencies
PC13. Troubleshoot / investigate deviations in EHS policies
PC14. Conduct inspections and internal audits of the facility and various programs to detect existing or potential hazards and recommendations for corrective action or preventative measure
PC15. Ensure that all safety measures are in place
PC16. Review and approve facility equipment and process changes
PC17. Release or hold the production as per finding for further inspection
PC18. Take up the results of the findings with the appropriate authority

Material Disposal

PC19. Provide for the effective and proper management of hazardous wastes to ensure environmental compliance with all local, state, and national regulations
PC20. Ensure that disposal of waste and left over tested material is carried on safely as per SOP Function

LFS/N0231: Prepare and provide training on Environmental, Health and Safety Standards

 PC1. Identify opportunities for continuous improvements, deploy best practices, and pro-actively update EHS programs to reflect current regulations and trends.
PC2. Identify the existing level of knowledge among the employees regarding EHS standards, policies and programs
PC3. Identify the requirements of the employees regarding EHS policies
PC4. Develop relevant training programs on EHS standards
PC5. Provide training on hazardous materials, control of hazardous material, occupational hazards, confined spaces, work place injury prevention, blood borne pathogen control, personal protective equipment, radiation safety, hazardous waste handling, etc.
PC6. Demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment PC7. Provide EHS-related orientation training to new employees and contractors at the site
PC8. Communicate EHS requirements to plant personnel on a frequent basis through participation in Engineering, R&D and management staff meetings, as well as applicable project teams

LFS/N0232: Manage and coordinate EHS team

PC1. Convey organizational and function strategy to the team

PC5. Set KRA's for direct reports, monitor overall team's KRA's, conduct performance appraisal, and ensure clarity

PC4. maintain direct interaction with regulatory agencies for EHS guidelines

PC6. prepare and submit reports for all Environmental Health and Safety programs like Toxic Release Inventory report, Air Quality Report, etc.

LFS/N0234: Supervise effective working of manufacturing process according to EHS standards and identifying and resolving any issues arising during the process


 PC1. Supervise processes for effective compliance to EHS regulations according to EHS standards and ensure that they are consistently followed and further identifying risk at all stages of production
PC2. Observe workers to determine proper use of prescribed safety equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, face shields, goggles, etc.
PC3. Manage and co-ordinate with all functions for ensuring EHS compliance to ensure adequate usage of safety measures for the work being carried out
PC4. Follow workplace procedures to deal with any EHS occurrences caused during the production process
PC5. Ensure that the equipment, materials and personal protective equipment are used as stipulated
PC6. Ensure that the waste garnered from the activity is disposed in an appropriate manner
PC7. Conduct testing of working areas for noise, toxic substances, and other hazards.
PC8. Review SAP periodic reports to carry out the departmental functions in compliance with EHS Standards
PC9. Identify variation from the regulatory guidelines and correction of the same
PC10. Collect and analyse data to make data driven recommendations/decisions.
PC11. Analyse potential causes of non-conformities to EHS regulations
PC12. Evaluating the need for action to ensure that problems do not recur

LFS/N0101: Maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment

PC1. Observe and comply with your company’s current health, safety and security policies and procedures 
PC2. While carrying out work, use appropriate safety gears like head gear, masks, gloves and other accessories as mentioned in the guidelines 
PC3. Report any identified breaches in health, safety, and security policies and procedures to the designated person 
PC4. Responsible for maintaining discipline at the shop-floor/ production area
PC5. Identify and correct any hazards that you can deal with safely, competently and within the limits of your authority 
PC6. Adhere and comply with storage and handling guidelines for hazardous material
PC7. Identify and recommend opportunities for improving health, safety, and security to the designated person
PC8. Complete any health, safety and security activities like safety drills and prepare records legibly and accurately

PC9.   Report any hazards that you are not competent to deal with to the relevant person in line with organizational procedures and warn other people who may be affected
